Advice on 2007 Lemond Fillmore

The other day I tagged along with my girlfriend as she was looking for a new bike. While in the store, I noticed that they had some single-speed/fixed gear bikes over on one of the racks. So, I went over and took a quick look. One of the bikes was a 2007 Lemond Fillmore that they were selling for about $750 new.

I'm thinking about getting it, but I'm under the impression that the 2007 model is a downgrade from previous models (and reviews of this specific model seem to be a little scarce after doing some searching). In any case, it's still appealing given that I already have a Lemond Sarthe road-bike (which is a really nice ride IMHO) and the Fillmore is nearly identical except for being SS/Fixed.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice to offer.

The 2007 is indeed quite a step down, the wheels and tubing aren't nearly as nice at they used to be. $750 is closer to what it should cost than the sticker price, but everything I'd compare it to would be closer to $600-650 (surly steamroller, raleigh rush hour, IRO angus, etc...) and would be hands-down better on at least one major component.* If it will make you smile to have a matching stable it's not a terrible bike, but for $750 any of those bikes with the fork swapped out for budget-level carbon would be a way better value.

*somewhat arguable since the lemond does have an outboard BB crank, but it's truvativ gxp (gross) and outboard bearings on a frame like this are almost certainly a waste.
