that is ******ly cool... the spandex and music is pretty sweet too. I can't really imagine riding around with that 1:1 gear ratio though.

Question though...
by skidding you're breaking the rear end free so the hub and pedals don't have to spin, correct? What intiates the skid, back pressure on the pedals or throwing the rear end out?

My friend makes f'ing great omelets; should I be less impressed because a trained chef probably makes a better one? Sure, circus performers can do stuff we can barely dream about, but there's still something to be said for "regular dudes" doing decently tricky tricks. Most of that stuff (in the OP video) was pretty standard, but you (meaning I, and hopefully you agree) have to admit that the backwards circle barspin was pretty neat. (I've never seen it before; if you have, then by all means, be unimpressed.)

Edit: Sorry for being so confrontational. Of course I realize opinions are just that, everybody has one, blah blah blah. I think my points are valid but moot. No hard feelings I hope.

i know everyone will take this wrong but i'm really wondering why people think those fixed gear tricks are so amazing. i love riding my fixed but i also street bmx and the best tricks on a fixed gear are real amature hour on a bmx. i completely understand that it requires as much or more skill to do those tricks, but watching a guy bunny hop down a couple stairs or do a bar spin just doesn't do much for me compared to something like this:

Good eye. I didn't notice until I read your post and re-watched the video. I guess it's not needed on a purpose-built bike.

call me crazy, i've always thought flatland bmx was terribly boring. street riding is great(real street, not park street) but other than that and MAYBE dirt jumping, I'd rather watch kids on a fix.

Same goes for skating, street is awesome, but anything in a park bores the crap out of me.

I don't know... I will always love street skating. But seeing someone just flow around a really good concrete park is also a thing of beauty.
