Seriously, I think both of those bikes are way way overpriced. ESPECIALLY the BMW.

yup. You could check Villin too. They do custom but also have stock frames hand built in FL.

wow, I didn't realize that Jacobs was so inexpensive. Granted, once you upgrade, it becomes less cheap. And Villin I did not realize were lugged.

The cheapest I've seen is $850, but what's $50 more for custom lugged steel?

those BMWs are ugly as sin...soma is too expensive for a taiwan bike. Check out milwaukee bicycle co, you can get a nice complete for $800(frame/fork made in waterford WI). My suggestion get the milwaukee in orange, no decals(just the headbadge), and all chrome/shiny parts. woot

More important that being made IN Waterford, they are made BY Waterford. They're tig-welded, so think of them as cheaper Gunnar track frames.

If you know someone in Japan you can get a brand new semi-custom Panasonic NJS frame for $626. You have tons of colors to choose from, a few sticker colors as well and can have your name on the frame.
Tons and tons of size choices as well.

Assuming it's OK to post in this thread, we just wanted to clarify that every frame BMW has ever produced was designed and made here in the US. This includes the Gangsta which, like all frames we currently produce, is hand welded here in Brooklyn, NY.

Brooklyn Machine Works has never outsourced an overseas frame.

Thanks for listening. Carry on.

might be stating the obvious here...

but for this kind of money there's a whole lot you can get, maybe not brand new...but i see a lot of sweet frames, njs, italian, etc go for around $800 bones on ebay all day every day.

to the original point though, the bmw is f-ing busted ugly imo.
