If you did a 44/17 you could have 17 skid patches instead of 8 and still have about the same ratio. But 8 is pretty decent.

When I lived out there I rode 48/19, then went to 48/18. The key is to learn what streets to take.

I run 44/17 also and it works pretty well. Learn to love the "wiggle"
