Freewheel to fixed....
cheap and easy way to do it? I'm running a standard shimano hub converted to single speed, but I'm really tempted to give fixed a go. Any way to do it without buying a new wheel or hub?

Suicide hub plus brakes.

is your shimano hub for a cassette or a threaded freewheel? if you have a cassette style hub, surly makes an adapter that allows you to run fixed gear, its called a fixxer: http://www.surlybikes.com/parts/popu...prodFixxer.jpghttp://www.surlybikes.com/parts.html

Probably the coolest thing I've seen all week. If some of us innovative SSFG doods had a machine shop and the knowledge to our use, we'd be rivaling Surly!
Nice! I may have to pick that up. |
