Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

That looks like quite a large reach. You'd best measure it to be sure.

But and old Mafac or Weinmann centerpull should work.

Were the stock wheels 27" ?

measure the reach you need and shop accordingly

The term suicide hub doesn't apply if there is a freewheel involved.

If the frame was built to handle 27" wheels, as I suspect it is, you will need to find some long reach calipers because 700c wheels are a tad smaller.

That's a lovely frame BTW. I'm a big fan of the old box-line pinstripes.

Try the tektro extra long reach, those should work.

If you want something more age specific, Mafac Racers or Competitions, GB sports, CLB should all work.

yep, super easy. You may have to redish the wheel if you are going to run a rear brake.
