quick fork question

i got my iro today and the front fork where you can slide the wheel in was bent in so it didnt fit, i had to use a wrench and pry it back so the wheel can fit in the front,

is it safe to ride?

deathhare 08-10-07 02:13 PM

If i were you, I would have called IRO and demanded a new fork.
Is it safe depends on how much it was bent. Bending it back made it weaker, thats for sure.

and i've bothered them so much and this was the UPS lost bike, so ****ign annoying

Do you still have the shipping box? Was the shipping box damaged upon arrival?

You should have immediately taken a pic of the problem before attempting to fix it if you want to best be able to deal with claims issues.

Mine came like that too. I used a wrench to get it straight and have been riding it heavily for 6 months now with no problem.

thanks geist, i gave tony a call he said its okay, it wasnt UPS it was at IRO box is undamaged and clean

deathhare 08-10-07 02:45 PM

htf does he know its ok?
weak sauce from IRO

dijos 08-10-07 02:47 PM

wait a minute. Is IRO saying that it's Ok, and he'll replace it, as it must have been damaged at IRO, somehow, or, hey, ride on the damaged fork, no problem.

Did it come with a piece of wood wedged between each drop?

Ja ne!

Same exact situation here, also bent it back with a wrench.
been riding it, doing wheelies, hopping up and down curbs and it's fine.
it was only on one side right? mine was on the right side.

the nut clamps the metal in place so tightly that it really cant bend either way.
The nut is also clamping the entire surface area of the fork end. i think it's fine.

^^ right side as well
