2008 Kona Paddy Wagon

Nice!

crushkilldstroy 08-21-07 12:05 AM

I dig. The Paddy Wagon is the only off the peg fixed gear bike I'd buy.

Yep. If they offer this as a frameset I may go for it.

ryanlovesyou 08-21-07 12:18 AM

Oh yeah that looks nice. What is the stock gearing?

supercub 08-21-07 12:21 AM

Damn it. I thought that was a link. You got me.

Gearing looks to be the same as last year. 42/16 if I recall correctly.

supercub 08-21-07 12:43 AM

I was trying to demonstrate my enthusiasm:)

fix: 08-21-07 12:45 AM

spyder 08-21-07 12:46 AM

It kind of reminds me of a Seven.

Ok.

quality steel
decently speced
affordably priced
clearance for fatter tires and fenders and fender eyelets!
more relaxed, road geometry (for those who are into that)
clean, modern look

for me personally:

available in 58 (unless they've changed the sizing for 2008 which I doubt), and hopefully as a frameset

It's gonna be the Pista Concept for geezers like me.

I test-rode the 2007 paddy wagon...i dunno, it felt kind of cheap to me. I guess it's just not my cup of tea. And i think they're kind of ugly...

Retem 08-21-07 03:35 AM

I like the colors much better than current

jamey 08-21-07 05:52 AM

the location of that bike shop looks awesome.

sven_svensenson 08-21-07 07:19 AM

they are available as framesets.

superdex 08-21-07 09:06 AM

What did you decide on instead?

Can't wait to get some bullhorns on mine. I'm not a big fan of the stock drops. The drop is too shallow for my taste.

to drop is too shallow, so you replace them with something that has minimal drop? im confused

I didn't realize how dumb that sounded. No; I had bullhorns on my conversion that got stolen , I got a Paddy as a replacement, don't like how shallow the drops are and I wanna go back to bullhorn because I found them way better for stretching out on the bike and climbing. The stock drops on the Paddy are too shallow and short for my taste, not enough depth in them for serious climbing. Also, I find that I'm riding on the brake hoods most of the time, right around where the horns would end. Grok?

marqueemoon 08-22-07 08:57 PM

I've got my LBS checking on ordering this frameset. The LBS guy told me that the Kona rep said there will also be a version with track ends, a derailleur hanger, and downtube shifter bosses.

Ken Wind 08-22-07 09:01 PM

They totally stole one of the Bianchi San Jose color schemes, and the Bianchi still looks better. That's sad.

evoke0ne 08-23-07 04:47 AM

that 2008 is a nice colour...its so plain yet so fitting for the bike...and I want to buy one...but im broke...>.<
