what's the bcd and crank arm length. I have a drive side sugino (old) with a 165mm length 110 bcd and a 40t and 50t alloy c-ring. The cool thing about the crank is it is meant for only a single ring. Only have the drive side. Don't want money for the crank but few bucks for the ring would be nice if you are interested.

Jeff

It's actually an ashtabula chainring that they somehow mated to the crankarm/spindle. I think it might just be square taper and not actually bolted on to anything (drive side crankarm keeps it in place).

If you were down the street I'd take you up on your offer, but as it is, don't worry about it. 'Preciate it though!

don't grind the brazeons off. just ruins the frame.

and imo you have to use the disc wheel, that's the only thing that makes this build worthwhile.

it's like putting $3000 wheels on a geo metro.

Whoa. Never seen that before. ;)

I bought a early 60's Raleigh Sprite simply because I see this old man wearing a derby and riding his old Schwinn around the neighborhood. He's always smiling and having a good time riding that bike.

I had to switch the bars because I didn't realize that the mountain lever I was going to use was for V-Brakes...luckily the original riser bars allow me to use a regular road lever.

I tried doing a ghost chainring but it didn't take up enough slack. So I could try using a tensioner (lame) or use a half link. If there were a such thing as a quarter link, I'd have perfect chain tension, so maybe a half link isn't good enough?

thats the proper way of doing it, but just putting them over the lock nuts is fine until you are ready to overhaul the hub.

Bikes are not like legos, you can't just click parts together and expect them to work.

Actually I'd say quite the opposite. It's incredible how much standardization there is across the board, compared with other industries.

Besides, what's your point? The whole reason I'm doing this is because I have spare parts and trying to make it all work is fun.
