Look Out Cleveland
I am in town for a day and was wondering if there are any good local bike shops worth checking out. Might hit up Great Lakes for lunch and a pint, anything by that place? Leaving for home in the late afternoon, but would not mind checking some LBS out.
thanks
Sean

There's a good shop in Lakewood...called Spin. I believe it's on Detroit. They have a lot of good stuff, and cool guys run/own it.

Shaker Cycles is cool but I have mixed feelings about it. Mitch gave me a stamped cog and my threads stripped quite a bit (replaced with a nice Surly cog). The place is great for service and random parts though.

well i'll be...
shaker's still around & mitch is still at the helm (if you can call it that)? i worked for him BITD when they were on chagrin (and actually in shaker hts.) next time you're in, take him a fattie...he'll cut you a sweet deal on whatever it is you're looking for.
funny story...he had a mechanic at the time (frank, who i understand went on to open his own shop...dunno if it's still around) who claimed to be allergic to tri-flow. his allergic reaction? fits of rage! sometimes we'd spray his stand when he went upstairs (oops...sorry frank) and he'd go crazy when he got back...all bug-eyed and thrashing the stand around, tools flying everywhere. now *that* was comedy.

I guess I'm hitting up this thread too late, but eh.
I should have gone to Shaker and Spin when I was there a few weeks ago.
I'm a big fan of Century Cycles.
