Suicide Hub

I jusy converted my1984 Panasonic SS to fixed with a suicide hub and a front brake. My first time riding fixed. I noticed that you can stop much quicker by backpedaling with a little front brake, and when you slow down without the brake I use these Quad muscles I never used before. It will be a great leg workout on every ride. Anyway, how safe is a suicide hub? I lathered up the Cog and Lockring with blue Loctite. I don't
think they are going anywhere. Is it called a Suicide Hub for a Reason? Or should I just invest in track or flip flop hub.

Blue isn't strong enough for a suicide hub. Heck, I use red on hubs with lockrings.

For a suicide hub, I'd weld it.

It's not like they're called suicide for nothing, right?

jb weld works better.

I'm certainly no expert on hubs and all, but I think the best options would be something like:

Welding > JB Weld > Green Loctite

It seems that Green Loctite would be strong enough to keep it on there, but still offer a SMALL chance of getting it back off if you ever wanted to.

I say get the right hub for the job.
As soon as you start trusting that thing itll slip at a bad moment.

Yes, it is called a suicide hub for a reason. Buy a wheel meant for fixed. You can get good wheels for cheap now.

buy the right hub for the job, I've loosened lockrings with blue loctite.

ive ridden on scuicied hubs for 4 years now and not had a problem....ive roto-fixed them and used locktite

Suicide hubs are fine if done right.....and running a front brake makes it much safer.

The Nashbar flip flop hub is 29$ right now, you might as well just get it. I have use suicide hubs for a long time before I got my formula and trust me on this you will want a real hub. One day you will put a little too much pressure on it and it will break loose. If not dangerous, very aggravating.
