Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I doubt it'll make it this far east, but I'll keep a lookout in Raleigh. Anyone looking over the CL ads to see if it turns up there?

I been checking out craigslist and ebay everyday, no luck yet. Saw a bunch of fixed gear kids at guilford last night and told them to keep their eyes peeled.

I FOUND IT! Apparently somebody stole three bikes on campus and left them behind a dumpster with intent to pick them up later, but a nice fella found them and took them before they got to them. He put up posters to find the bike's owners, a friend gave one to me, I called and its sitting safely in my room! Thank you SO much to everyone who looked for it, especially all you guilford folks! Just don't beat me up if ya see me riding it

Awesome!

Thats friggin awesome!

No carry your arse to Cycle Gear on HighPoint Rd and buy one of those HUGE/thick motorcycle chain locks. It might be bulky, but you know that your baby will be there after class!

I'm definitely using a U-lock for now. But my bike is living indoors at night that's for sure!

my lock method is fool proof. i lock my bike to an electric fence and carry insulated rubber gloves.

haha, that's awesome. I look out my window everyday, and the dorm I can see is the one my bike was locked up too. Its the only bike rack on campus I didn't check, and if I woulda looked hard enough I could have seen my bike.

The bikes were left behind a dumpster where a kid found them and brought them to his dorm. I scanned the whole campus after my bike was stolen and didn't see it. He found three bikes and locked them up outside his dorm...it was on campus the whole ****in time. I dunno where he was keepin them all the time tho, because I had eyes all over this place looking for it.

Congrats! Dude, you are so lucky.

Now, take the money you were going to spend on a new ride and buy a very good lock.

Maybe 2 mini-U locks (one to lock the bike to the bike stand and the other to lock rear wheel to frame).
