Hub Bearings...

Considering those who say that replacing Formula hub bearings with Phil Wood bearing is a good thing, I have looked for prices and whee to get them.

My question is, are they $5.95 for one bearing or a pack of bearings?

I you go to QBP you can get 4 different grades of bearings. They have cheap ones all the way through cereamic. One of them also has removable seals which I have found useful.

On the Phil website they list them as only $2.46 Not sure why since they dont actually sell them from the site, and NO WHERE can get them for that.

$6 would be about right for that grade of bearing, there are other threads about where to get them and what model to get that I'm assuming you've found.

I wouldn't bother with this unless your bearings are trashed and you haven't tried just regreasing them (yes, you can service formula bearings), it's "better" but we're really splitting hairs here. It's not worth throwing good ones in the trash, the point is more that if you're going to replace crunchy ones the cost of upgrading to the best is minimal.

Awesome! thank you!

Will he still sell direct if there's a dealer in my town? They quoted $12-15 for the same bearing Phils website lists for $2.46

No. But you could bring that price into your LBS.
