Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

The best part about that $5 fork is that it was originally $10. I was expecting some $50 rig marked way down to get rid of the last one. But $5 unicrown unpainted aluminum = awesome.

Biking hats are nice because they don't blow off your head while keeping (most of) your hair in check.

It's six miles from my house to class, but anyway.

90% of hats give me headaches from the constant pressure they put on my head in order to stay on.
Like fitted NewEras and shi!t like that hurts my head in about a half hour.
Cycling hats not only keep the hair out of my eyes which is super duper important because I won't ever be caught dead in a pony tail (sorry dudes, just isnt for me) as well as stays put while not killing my head.

...and plus, it's a Colnago hat, so who wouldn't want to wear it.

What dddave said...I get to the PT jerb less sweaty on my head because of it.

Also kept me head a touch warmer on the "cold' 45 deg ride home last Sat.

I wear a cycling cap under my helmet on hot days. I keep my head shaved pretty close, so it wards off sunburn and keeps the sun out of my eyes. But yeah, I cycling caps are pretty ******y most of the time.
