Actually, it should be easy to find a metal shop. Might even be able to do it online. Just email a JPG of the image. I'm working with a place in Boston to do something for me. I'll let you know how it turns out.

FINISHED: https://neilmonday.blogspot.com/2007/...g-my-bike.html

I have finished my bike painting. I wish the paint job wasn't so splotchy but that was my own fault. The glowing effect is so cool that it totally outweighs the uneven paint job. If the youtube video doesn't work yet don't worry. I just uploaded it so it might take a while to process.

Congratulations. Looks petty good from the pics. Why don't you just order more paint? I think you'll be more satisfied in the long run if you do a good job now.

Yeah I was thinking about it but I haven't been able to ride my bike for a week and it REALLY sucks. Also, I have spent a lot more money on this than I had originally planned for and that glow paint definitely isn't cheap. I'll keep it like it is for a couple days and then decide what I want to do.

Neil, really cool bike, i rmemeber seeing a post to use a flood light to 'charge' the glow paint before you ride... that would be fun... also don't forget the green bar tape

Nice paint job. really well done!!!

Thats one problem with the paint. I don't have any lights powerful enough to charge it before I go riding at night. It gets super charged in the daylight while I'm at class and then when I bring it into my dimly lit house it glows pretty good, so I will try and get a picture of that.

you got a pretty good finish on the rattle-can job. how was it using the clear coat? i didn't clear coat my frame after i sprayed it (rustoleum spa blue)and while i haven't had any durability issues, i'd like a more "gloss" look. i've sprayed a tons of stuff before, but when i was looking for a glossy or otherwise clean finish i always went with powdercoat. so now i have an excuse to try out the clear coat.

The clear coat was actually kinda hard. If you can afford a powdercoat I would definitely do that. I noticed that when I did a light coat of clear it was not very glossy at all. But when I did a thick coat (so thick that the clear almost was running down the frame) it was very glossy. You have to really know what is just enough, and what is too much to make it glossy with out running. The technique I just described is probably a totally wrong way to do it, but it worked for me and thats what matters.
