Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Man, in the spring they were selling 105 brakes in both black and silver at 2 for $20. I'm glad I got that deal because I really like the 105's and I doubt the Ultegra brakes are twice as good.

The pads are better on the Ultegras, but the 105s are nice.

nah, i do it from a trackstand, standing on the underside of the pedals. i use my front hub as a fulcrum and try to lean my weight over that fulcrum as far as i can, while lifting weight off my feet, on the pedals, and throwing to my torso....damn, basically by using my front hub as a fulcrum and distributing to my weight so as to cause a controlled but tilting angle over it.

Anyone else see any good deals out on Nashbar today? I'm planning on getting an order in with that 25% off coupon.

Looking to build up my parts bin.

yeah...if i'm in the clips i can do that, it actually comes in handy for some really tight turns sometimes.

if you can pop your wheel up to stop, it's only a step removed from that.
