I need to get from the San Jose Amtrak station to where Saratoga Avenue meets up with Highway 9 and becomes Big Basin Way. It's also the location of Breakaway Bikes in Saratoga. My ultimate destination is Little Basin Park in the Santa Cruz mountains, but my homework is done on that part of the journey.
I need to know if Saratoga Ave is bikeable. Also, can I ride on Steven's Creek Blvd or should I go up by Santa Clara University and catch Saratoga there? I'll be on a loaded Surly Crosscheck.

I'm not that familiar with the downtown area but if you could get over to Meridian and Curci Ct., you can pick up the bike path to Los Gatos and then take Hwy 9 north to Saratoga. Looks like you could take Montgomery to Park to Race to Fruitdale to Meridian.
