i decided to try co2.

i broke my topeak road morph the other day, so this weekend i picked up a co2 inflator the mechanic at my lbs suggested. let's not make this a co2 vs. air argument, because air is always gonna come out on top... but what i want to know is where can i find some cheap co2 canisters?

i don't wanna pay $3.99 every time i flat.

Is your inflater made for threaded of threadless cartridges?

Make sure you replace the CO2 with air when you get home.

what size are you looking for? have you tried searching the internet? i found some for a lot cheaper than $3.99 each

it's threaded.

and yeah, i know you gotta put real air in your tires after co2. i know all the pros / cons. i'm just looking for something easy to fill up with when i get out of class and find a flat without carrying a pump in my bag all the time.

Why would you switch out CO2 for air?

CO2 is heavier than air, but not by much.

CO2 diffuses through the tubes a lot faster than air.
it'll be squishy again in a couple of days if you don't refill with air.

The threaded ones are harder to find cheap (I use them, as well). I see them for about $2/each in bulk, but once you pay shipping it nudges closer to the price you would pay local anyway.

I wasn't trying to dissuade you from CO2, by the way.

get another road morph

I know you've (OP) already picked up a CO2 inflator.

BUT... Look around and find an inflator that works with 12g NON-threaded. For the cartridges, just find a local paintball store and ask for 12g's. They're the exact same thing, and usually ~1/2 the price of the "bicycle" ones.

just an example, they can run less than a buck a piece.

Find helium cartridges.

12g cartridges never get my tires up to the PSI I want.

To save on cost, use threadless cartridges.......that's if your dispenser takes threadless.
