Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

^ Seriously though the Metropolis Chrome bag is a great
and comfortable bag--I have one and it hauled countless
loads of law books, groceries, beer, briefcase and
other crap when commuting--going strong. Not the cheapest--
but for my money the best in quality and has thick padding
on the strap.

There's cheap for efficiency and reuse and then there's sweatshop, overconsumption cheap. Don't get the two confused.

So I PREFER people not support Wal-mart.....unless you literally are 50miles away from anything remotely close and have to or else you will die....
But I dont support them

y'know i really have begun to like my timbuk2. it's the "pro messenger backpack". it's not too big or small. i probably wouldn't have gotten it if it wasn't $40 on craigslist. i guess they're normally like $120 because they're limited edition or some crap. works for me. only complaint is a sweaty back.

i think i might try a seagull or freight next.

Chrome Metropolis.

Be aware however, that lots of people own (and are still buying) chrome bags, so their hipster cred is in perilous danger. If you want a higher cred factor, I guess you'd have to go with a custom bag from reload, or maybe make one yourself.

Yeah, how dare they be competitive. Where do you think Mom & Pop get there goods? Is there a parallel China manufacturing environment where high wages, paid lunches and 30 hour work weeks exist?

I doubt all (est) 8 million undocumented aliens in the country are working at WalMart.

^ when you shop with moms and pops at least some (more) of the money
stays in the community rather than going out to Wallie World corporate salaries
to fund their jacked vision of labor relations.
