One weird thing with the build so far is that my current cranks don't seem to fit on the BB that came with it. Which is a shame cause the chainline would've been perfect.

The cranks are some random shimano that originally had biopace on them (I'm guessing they're 600s judging from the quality of bike which they came off of) and the BB is a sugino with a 106 spindle (I think it's a sugino 75 BB)

Is this an issue of different tapers? It seems as though the spindle on the left side of the BB is too short for the crank arm to sit on. Any suggestions?

Don't have any shots of the cranks, but shimano and sugino should have the same taper... correct?

75's have a 109 mm spindle and would be ISO taper
not all sugino are ISO some are JIS

Is there a way to tell if a spindle is JIS or ISO? I got some Shimano 600EX (JIS?) cranks in the mail which seem to fit pretty well but from what i understand, JIS and ISO are similar enough that they will only develop play or become damaged over time.
