The fact that they won it once in my lifetime was good enough for me, but hell - I won't complain about my team actually being decent. Go Sox!

How are they the new NYY? I agree though that they have some of the worst fans. To be similar to the Yankees you need to have class.

I was watching a game (on t.v.) many years ago, when A-Rod was still with the rangers. They were playing the Red Sox at Fenway.
The batter hits a ball hard up the middle. A-Rod (still a short stop then) dives to his left (towards second base) and gloves the ball. But he is lying on his back, and the runner from first is racing toward second base, so A-Rod, unable to even see second base, flips the ball with his glove hand back over his head to the second baseman who is able to turn the double play.

The Red Sox fans gave him a standing ovation for that play.

And to think, the Red Sox won the WS twice while Joe Torre was manager of the Yankees. That's probably the real reason why the Boss opted to let him go ;-)

Some confused Broncos fans must have stumbled on the crowds of people celebrating victory.
