Older model Dakine Heli Pack. Very narrow and tall. The Camelbak pouch holds my Dell mini 9, and plenty of room for more crap to carry! I snap the waist and sternum straps, but I only stress that the waist strap is fitted.

Can't find any pictures online of it - as it is Dakine's 2003-04 model, but I've seen the newer ones, and I'm sure glad I got mine when I did! I'll try and snap a picture.

does kemmer still sell those backside backpacks?

In Canada, gas is sold by the liter and thus appears to cost more. The trees tell me otherwise, but perhaps that's where the picture was taken..

i just was outbid'd on a reload deluxe on ebay but liek just 2 dollars.

I carry a MEC Blitz hydro pack... it is designed for rock climbing and is a remarkably well made and tough little day pack.

It's compact at 12 litres, cost a whopping $20.00 and if I can't carry what I need in this, I use my paniers.

I usually carry a shell jacket and pants, snacks / lunch, tools, my camera, my pump, and also carry a 1.5 litre hydration pack (not included) and still have some room to spare.

The price of gas in Canada is nowhere near that high.

I have the Chrome Ivan posted earlier. Absolutely fantastic, comfortable on and off bike, cavernous space.

yeah dude, you got this exactly right. since a liter is a little more than a quarter of a gallon, it costs twice as much as a gallon in the US.

on topic, i rock a crumpler the hoax. almost the perfect bag for me. i want to add on a second strap at the very least, and waterproof it if i can (though the water resistant material is pretty damn good, even here in PDX).

no way it's 8.79 can/L. maybe 1.55can. i'd say it's 0.87 and 9/10 usd.

on topic, i'm currently satisfied with a seal-line rolltop backpack, which is supposed to be a light drybag (will float briefly, etc). i have the medium which is narrow and tallish, but i'm skinny and have a small torso so it's a good fit. straps aren't as nice as chrome's but there's a waist and sternum strap, and it can be adjusted higher for non-riding use (unlike chrome). one big pocket and a small flat one on the outside, also weather-resistant.

i'd like to make some sort of removable pouch with several pockets and an internal pack sheet to keep everything organized, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
