how cheap is cheap?

MattFashion 11-14-07 10:15 PM

$50. shipped
new in box

my friend built up a wheel set with them last spring. They looked super sexy and she only had good things to say.

50$ is a nice snag, especially since fronts are much easier to get deals on. Shouldn't be hard to find a matching hub that'll bring you in under 100$ if you're patient

what does she think about the rear hub's 44mm chainline?

i'm not a very patient...
haha.
i'm going to lace it up to a set of mavic cxp-30's with a low flange formula in the front.
i have dp-18's now but i'm ready for something new.

i have had a pair i built up a few years ago. they're on my main ride and still in full use with no problems. had to replace the bearings once (sealed) but that's to be expected

i really like the piece they have to hold tension on the bearings, much nicer that older counter-tighten method. i also really like the allen bolts. it's a lot nicer to just carry a little allen set (which i do anyway) to get the wheels on and off instead of a 15mm wrench.

I have pauls on my concept - black laced to Deep Vs - I have trashed the **** out of these wheels and never had a problem with them. Highly recommended.

Another note. My Pauls to Deep Vs are notably lighter than my Phils to Mavic OP
