If that is indeed 'shopped and you start putting up posters all over town you could be in for a lawsuit by WB, Microsoft, etc. Then again, who puts up posters for alleycats...

There's vocal anger towards individuals who buy into the "fad" of fixed gear bikes, but everyone gets giddy for Microsoft and Coors' sponsorship of an alleycat? (Though Phillies should support every race, afaic).

I'd rather have 100 entry-fee-paying posers than doling out underpriced advertising to corporations who do nothing for cycling on top of being immense bullies and *******s to consumers (specifically Microsoft, Coors and WB). The posers weed themselves out if they don't figure out what it's all about. Corporate support isn't so much like that; it weeds itself in rather than out.

Movie themes don't bother me, but 300 themes do. See, I got to MSU (our mascot is sparty the spartan), so of course I get plenty of invites to 300 themed parties. Haven't made it to any yet...

But I would be totally pumped if those kinds of sponsors could be had for alleycats around here.

And in response to bward's question - given the OP's user name, I'd guess NYC.

I believe it's possible. Some friends of mine nearly got PBR to sponsor an alleycat around here. We think the reason that it didn't happen is because they requested too much beer after PBR showed interest in their initial request for sponsorship.

The one that makes me suspicious is WB. Maybe they just got them to approve their use of copyrighted material and decided to put them down as a sponsor.
