Trackstand -> Falling into construction ditch

Embaressing as hell, but too funny not to tell. 5 minutes ago I was trackstanding at a red light, when I lost control, couldn't get either of my feet out, and fell into a construction ditch on the side of the road at about 1 mph.

It was raining too. Wth?

:fight:

toddistic 11-26-07 11:03 AM

Cynikal 11-26-07 11:04 AM

This thread is useless without pictures. :)

Glad you are OK.

Metricoclock 11-26-07 11:04 AM

how deep was the ditch, and were there workers in it ?

crushkilldstroy 11-26-07 11:05 AM

Were the construction workers hitting on you again?

dewthedew 11-26-07 11:06 AM

It was maybe 4 feet deep, but the orange netting stuff caught most of my fall. There was a guy on the sidewalk that asked if I was alright though.

dewthedew 11-26-07 11:14 AM

thats the worst when people see you get owned. i made a jackass move when i was riding the mountain bike trails and ate it bad.. sure enough some hot chick on a sweet bike ride by and asked how i was doing.. i should of asked her to kiss my wounds.

BLIMP 11-26-07 11:18 AM

At least you fell into a harmless ditch (yes?) and not one filled with pointy pieces of metal and other implements of industrial death.

Was the ditch all muddy? That would add another comic element that's not really needed, but it's always nice to have more elements.

Yeah actually my immediate thought was "HOLY CRAP REBAR!!!" but it was ok.

NitroPye 11-26-07 11:49 AM

"Holy crap rebar" and "but is was okay" are two phrases I never thought I would hear together.

kyselad 11-26-07 11:56 AM

That's going down in style. If you're gonna do it, do it up.

doofo 11-26-07 01:42 PM

so did you blame it on the bike
?

thelung 11-26-07 01:58 PM

picturing this made me laugh out loud, congratulations

charlesxbronson 11-26-07 02:03 PM

Hahahahaha, glad you're ok, that rules.

:roflmao:
Next time you tell that story include the orange netting stuff in the original account. It's always funny when people fall on or crash into that stuff.

So long as you climbed out and shouted "YES!" you should be cool ;)

time bandit 11-26-07 02:29 PM

i fell into that orange netting once. only i was on skis and that netting saved my ass from falling off the mountain.

brother man has a point. pungee pits are becoming increasingly popular these days. though they usually cover them with leaves and other various shrubbery

BLIMP 11-26-07 03:43 PM

I blame it on VC road crews.

Heels together, back straight, arms up. Stick that landing. Once for the judges and once for the crowd. :D Glad you're OK!!!

delicious 11-26-07 03:50 PM

awesome. did you get unclipped before the 4 foot fall or did the bike fall all the way with you?

ZeroPt99 11-26-07 03:55 PM

When the guy asked if you were okay, you should have said "yeah, why?" and acted like nothing had happened. Then continue to attempt track standing again.
