Why would you think this is a weird problem? Ask any paramedic or cop and they will tell you horror stories that makes your story seem like little red riding hood.

Once I shot a 12 ga sawed off shotty while cartwheeling through a snowy field. True story.
Another time, I shot a pistol at a washing machine in my front yard and it ricoceted back to me and missed me by a foot.
Moral of the story - don't shoot guns while you are high on weed.
