Not particularly. I was just pointing out that if anything, that one would qualify more as a jackass bike than the bike he posted.

I think fat out of shape roadies giving me sh*t for riding a fixie is pretty jackass. Maybe they should get one and actually get a work out out of their riding.

Maybe Im an exception but I get a better work out on my geared beater. They might be out of shape because they are lazy, or maybe they pose more than they ride, but I wouldnt attribute it to the drive train. Just sayin...

Be proud of your bike, duder. Just because it's simple and traditional doesn't make it lame. Actually, in most cases, it makes it cooler.

It's really nice to see fixed gear bikes that are actually utilitarian and serve more purpose than an extension of one's style sense, or lack thereof.

One comment on the bike... it needs fenders and a thermos.

My winter fixie and rain bike - it was -20 C and very snowy the day I took this pic and the thermos was full of hot chai.

Money shot...the rear oiler hub on my '55 Lenton although it is now sporting an 18 tooth cog instead of an 18 tooth freewheel.

I find racks to be rather practical as even if you don't have paniers you can strap stuff to them.

My 1962 Peugeot road bike even has a rear rack as although it is my "go fast" bike I still often have a need to go fast and carry a fair amount of stuff.
