Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Since never, but now that it's painted like that, it does kinda look like an integrated HS.

Maybe it's just his joke bike.

Man, I can't believe I just said "joke bike."

The headset is integrated. I suppose to be more accurate, turned and hacksawed would describe the bars.

Yeah, I'm on the NYC, LA, Chicago and SF boards, but there is not much I can contribute, so I'm just drooling over the bike porn.

Yes, its mine.

More photos? No problem:

The old built:

Unfortunately, it has a huge dent in the toptube now. The steering is slightly affected, too. Ergo: Don't lend your favorite bike to your reckless friend.

So the ***gin is my "beater" now.

This my new replacement, a swiss made "Luongo":

I have to shoot some outdoor photos on a nice and sunny day.

oh no! that ***gin is so classy lookin, too. you can really see it in that second pic you posted though. that's really a bummer.

that luongo is quite the looker as well. is it angled funny or does it have a downsloping top tube?

I guess the angles look funny because of the point of view. The Luongo is quite the normal, relatively steep angled, track bike.

@Piwonka: It accidently dropped down 6'5" and smashed into a lamp post. I guess you shouldn't hang track bikes of street lights on windy days. But I wasn't present, so there so was no stopping him.

Yeah, the rasta colored frame is awesome. Yeah, it was on Ebay. I ended up winning it for exactly 300 bucks, plus a few bucks for shipping. I think that the fork may be out of alignment, but I'm not entirely sure whether it looks that way due to my poorly-built wheels or not. I have a hard time not beating the **** out of bikes so I'm going to get a good mini-krypto lock and some sort of top-tube protection going on.

It definitely deserves some better components, namely a new seat post and saddle, new pedals, and new stem. Some proper track-style bars would be nice but the randonneurs are actually more comfortable for the riding that I usually do. A track crank like a Miche or Sugino 75 would be sweet but I'm afraid that a $200 track crank is just not in the budget right now. Besides, the other components come first.

More photos when the weather gets nicer and I'm no longer afraid to ride on the streets of Milwaukee and madison.
