So here's my soon to be new ride, as soon as I get the parts together. Hopefully some good scores at t-town tomorrow and I'll be riding it by tomorrow night. Thanks to Ceya for the heads up and trackstar for this sweet frame. I thought 3rensho aren't njs certified, but this frame has a njs stamp on the bottom of the bb, which was surprising. DuraAce headset and sugino 75 bb. Can't wait to finish it and ride this baby.

well here is what I grabbed at the T-town swapmeet.
Era. 1955-1960 56cm (the frame says EALI stamped on the tube and an old decal that says Miguel Estaban Merlo 1008 on the head tube) anyone heard of this? Id like to dig up more info on the frame. All someone could tell me is that is was maybe a late 50's spanish frame) *Cinelli campione delMondo bars *3ttt italian stem *campagnolo 165 cranks with Sugino 50tooth Mighty competition chainring with campy chainring bolts *Campagnolo bottom bracket *FB rear track hub with 15tooth cog laced to a New Mavic reflex sup wheel *Campagnolo front hub laced to a mavic reflex sup front wheel. *Veloflex italian tires. *campagnolo seatpost *Unicanitor Brevettata Italian saddle. *etc.... It looks like this bike has almost all vintage parts on it.. I go home. throw my peddles on it and take it for a ride. I think the wife will ***** when she sees it so don't be supprised if she makes me sell it because of the collection that I have now. If any of you really want it and she is going to make me get rid of it, PM me. P.S. Better pics to come. http://iam.bmezine.com/q%5Cg%5Cofntwf/blg9gavi.jpg http://iam.bmezine.com/q%5Cg%5Cofntwf/3s7gl1zz.jpg http://iam.bmezine.com/q%5Cg%5Cofntwf/58u7ixql.jpg http://iam.bmezine.com/q%5Cg%5Cofntwf/xvp5vzub.jpg |

3rencho are not njs anymore they will still have the stamp because at one time they were njs. but they are not being made anymore so they do not qualify. my lightning suffered the same fate this year d |
dang, it's nice. you get a good deal at t-town?
|
Nice, those lugs are very interesting.

Here's the finished bike. I still have to take it to a shop to get everything rechecked and tightened correctly but so far it's a beautiful ride. 51cm 3rensho frame with dura ace hs and sugino 75 bb. Dura ace crank arms with sugino 75 chainring. alum nitto stem with nitto 123. The wheels are the IROs off of my IRO mark v. I'm using these till I have money to buy nice wheels, I'm thinking Dura ace hubs...but thats still far in the future.

Nice! So what else did those guys bring back from Japan? I'm assuming this was from the recent trip... And by the way, 3Rensho made a lot of frames for export, those(from what I've seen at least) generally don't have the njs stamp. |

Just finished mine. Old 60's-70's frame from craigslist that I had powder coated. I know the fork is horrible, but I'm out of money and it was cheap.

d They are njs frames as well as your lighting. That is why they are stamped. you cannot ride them in Keirin races in Japan or Korea. The only person this applies to here is Tomity. The frames will always be NJS certified, why? The NJS stamp! S/F, CEYA! |

All the builders who are or were NJS certified are frame builders, so they will make frames that are not NJS. LC, you are correct... S/F< CEYA! doing this in school...bad boy!! |
Thanks for the comments. I got it home. Tuned it up, had a phil lockring put on it this morning and its running soooo smooth.. The problem is the wife said she wants me to get rid of it.. I was only suppose to come home with a wheelset for my fetish or something for throwaround riding in the city and I came home with this. Im going to ride it around for a bit before I get rid of it. maybe trade+/cash for something a little more practical for city riding. ya never know.. maybe the wife will just let me keep it :P

pshhh, that chrome had nothing on 32 grit sandpaper, plus it was rusty, as with the rest of the frame. |
Oh god!

Question for all... lug highlights on my 3rensho or not?
minor detail but I'm touching up the paint on the new bike, figure I'd add some lug highlights to it while I'm at it. |
