Commuterfied. Photo by Mike Arena. I'm in a fair bit of pain here.

42x17 Biopace(!), Nitto R-15 mini rear rack, milk crate. Spin and grin, *****es.

Need to thank gmcapitan again for bringing the crank puller out.

you're in pain because your using 42x17 and trying to sprint and all your really doing is spinning and not really going anywhere. You need to up the gearing by quite a bit, even if its on a ghettodrome.

well that's a charming little mount you've there. d'you have any more pictures of it?

Matthew A Brown 02-13-06 09:56 AM

Just got thrown together a couple days ago, so not much for more pics yet. I've gone with the crazy low gearing for carrying about books and beer and puppies and such, so really shouldn't be anywhere near a track. Hence the apparent lolarity of me even trying to keep a pace line with the everyone....

It's also the motivation to get a much more tracky machine together. I miss the 52/17 already. But the Biopace rocks.

Off the peg to become the daily rider, 2 week turnaround, 10 day delivery time. More pics once I finish building her up today.

yeah, and you're all suckers for not picking it up. A one owner bike, straight from Japan. ****ing amazing build, beautiful lugs, not a mark anywhere on the frame, it's MINT.

Awesome, instant desktop!

What kind of rims are on the fukaya? Looks like they have a really nice profile.

rvabiker 02-13-06 11:17 AM

Seeing the brake hole in that bob jackson teaser shot was like seeing a woman that didn't shave her legs. Everything was so beautiful untill I got down to the bottom of the pic...

who said that women with hairy legs can't be beautiful?

Conti Sprinter 2500 (i forget the number, its not in front of me at the moment.) Tubular.

the bladed spokes in the rear are DT i do believe. The hub did need some slotting at the spoke holes. To attest to the quality of the build and the untouchiness of a Radial non-drive side: that wheel hasn't gone out of true in the 5 years I've had it. Not a single stitch.

I have a wheel built with those Hoshimax bladed spokes, those are certainly the way to go...

The rims are 36h Velocity Aeros (not aerohead). They have a really smooth rounded profile. Very classy looking. Strong. They're almost identical to my Fir Mizar tubular rims.

I recommend them. It's a nice neutral ground between the box-section rims and the new-fangled deep profile rims.

Some people have an overly restrictive sense of beauty. If leg hair, and brake holes turn you off that bad, you are missing out on a lot of great bikes and people. Ah well... more hairy legged brake-compatible beauty for the rest of us. ;)

Absntr, that frame looks gorgeous. I'm officially jealous.

a commodity bob jackson with a brake hole? i hope you're kidding.

rvabiker 02-13-06 11:41 AM

Well mattface you can have all the women with hairy legs. I'd never turn down a bike with brake holes (50% of mine have them) but I obviously have a preference. Maybe hairy legs was a bad anaolgy. I like curvy girls but other body shapes are still beautiful...is that better or am I taking the bikes=girls analogy too far?
