Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thanks! Of course I remember your bike, the inspiration for my build was, in part, a synthesis of the coloring of your Italian mystery track bike and the townie aspects of the Lotus. You sold it? Bummer. It's such a cool time of year to see great bikes locked up all over the city, it's sweet to have one worth crossing the street for. See you around, will you be at the Rocky race? I may change Stella back to drop bar status just for the race, then put it back to townie afterwards.

Yes I do. It's what gets me around. I wish there were more fixed gears or at least some more road bikes.

Yeah, the only people in my area that seem to be interested in riding on the road are triathletes. The guys at my LBS don't know what to think of my Bareknuckle. Where do you ride, just around the base?

yeah, i know exactly what you mean. i think it's partly due to the fact that ironman korea is right around the corner. if i didn't have to fly there i'd probably go watch. i can't deny it though, i do have my tri bike here as well.

as far as an LBS. the one on base only caters to MTB's. besides he's a ripoff. nice enough guy though. i'll usually head out to Seoul to Kevinbike for anything else (rarely). It's close to the Nambu Bus Station.

I normally just ride around the base. with my work load, its hard to get out all the time.

Where are you from? military? or just living out here?

yeah, lotsa orange...it's all personal preference though, we're not knocking your bike.
i don't like the bars like that, black cloth tape would be cool, you could also rotate them down just a tad, so the drops are a little flatter, not alot though.
i don't like top tube protectors either so IMO losing that would make it look nicer.

actually, your bike just matches too much,

OK. This thing has been done for a really long time and i've been superbly lazy about posting photos. Steven your persistance paid off, here they are. Pardon the non drive side photo, drive side to come. I traded a painting for this frame. It was built by a friend in LA after i got sick of having sore wrists and crotch pain on my aggressive frames. I sold my paramount and my vivalo and replaced it with this thing. It got dinged the first weekend i took it out, but i dont' even really care. 7/4/7 kaisei tubing, Kaisei BB and custom cut henry james lugs. I set it up to be a comfort bike and its working out pretty well. The geometry is super lax, i'm upright and i have no overlap. Winner at a bike shop lost my grips so i got some tape that i'll throw on there this weekend but i'm considring changing the bars to either porteurs or risers. Chorus headset, record BB and cranks, Campy BMX chainring, custom stem, miche laced to torelli can't remember what the post is.
