Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Allow me to be the first to complain - needs new (read: old) hubs, cranks, pedals, and bars. The saddle looks great, so I'll let it slide.

Ideally I need to find a complete '72 record pista groupo. The bars on the other hand are 50 year old Ambrosio Champion shallow track bars that I polished. Originally the bike would've come with Cinelli pista bars and stem, I have the bars but I like the look of the Ambrosio's better. Cinelli's are too narrow.

Nevermind on the bars then.

Either way, as long as the bike's ridden. Looks beautiful.

yep!

learning to build them was an interesting challenge. I needed to order special long nipples and washers, and actually use a tensionmeter for once. Also they settle over a few days, so a week after I built them, (and never having ridden them) i had to re true them again!

I have a set of campy hubs laced to ma2s I will use for street riding. I built up the wooden rims and dugasts because well...

you only live once, and I wanted to know what they felt like to ride... The tires are still stretching, I'll know soon!

It's a longshot, but I thought I'd try posting here. My ride was stolen a few days ago from a friend's yard in Denver. It's proably in San Bernadino by now, but ya never know. If anyone sees something like it, please let me know. I really love this thing!

Wow, beautiful Schwinn.

Sorry for the loss of that nice Austro-Daimler, dudeona3V.

Now for my latest entry, though these pics don't do it justice:

So many pics of beautiful vintage bikes. Those Frejus, Schwinn and Katakura Silk bikes represent the most beautiful bikes I've seen here for an age.

Just like buses. You wait and wait and then three come at once.
