best looking ss crank?

Do you know any best looking ss crank (and perform well too)?

bbattle 12-11-07 12:48 PM

Sugino RD. Looks good, works well. Not too expensive. Hipsters can't stand it when they've spent big bucks on their ride and they still can't get as many women as the guy with the RD cranks and a real job.

peabodypride 12-11-07 12:50 PM

Sugino 75. Looks good, works well. Kind of expensive. Real guys can't stand it when they've spent only a small amount of money on their ride and they can't fit as many track chainrings as the guy with 75 cranks and no life.

ss cranks are different than fg cranks?

Jet-man 12-11-07 01:05 PM

I'm liking this one better than OEM

Mountain, road, in-between?

roadfix 12-11-07 01:06 PM

C Record road cranks.

zzoundss 12-11-07 01:58 PM

Im gonna go with a either a Sugino 75 or Campy C-Record. I like the older Zeus cranks I've seen but don't know that much about em.

What a horribly ambiguous question. With no information about what it will be used for, relative budget in mind, or any regards to what the poster thinks looks 'good'.

Honestly go to a bike shop and look around, or if there is no good shops for such a thing in your area then try using google for 5 minutes.

These look good and are way cheap...

It depends on the bike but I really like Sugino 75s, Dura-Ace Track and FSA Carbon Pro Track (in terms of looks). I've heard bad things about the FSA in terms of durability, though.

^Way facking cool, but don't look like 144bcd. Not a big deal, just sayin'.

edit: also paul cranksets, if you can afford it. A little pricey.

hmm, I should say "best looking crank for a single speed, 29er, rigid mtb"

Sorry for the confusion

Cynikal 12-11-07 03:33 PM

It's 130, so I figured it was a SS crank as asked for by the OP.

Edit: guess the OP wanted MTB, I have nothing worthwhile for that.

Ha ha ha, yeah, disregard just about every suggestion in this thread so far.

I've heard mixed reviews of the Truvativ Stylos. Nothing looks better than Profiles, IMHO.

White Industries ENO cranks look awesome, but the proprietary chainring thing is just dumb.

Marquee, do you know who sells that ENO crank? It's the first I've seen it. Lovely.

Ken Cox 12-11-07 05:16 PM

I ride with a Stronglight 130bcd crank on my Pista, and, for the money I don't see anything lighter or stronger, and it has a nice finish on both sides.

On my Karate Monkey 29er fixed gear ice bike, I ride with a Truvativ Stylo.
My lbs swears by this crank and I like the way it looks and functions.
