yes all of those bands are grindcore to the nth dergree . powerviolence and thrash are synonyms or subgeneres depending on how you look at it.

I was pointing out that none of those bands are "hardcore", and all of them would tell you that. Although genres don't really mean anything anymore, I guess.

xylophonecks 12-18-07 02:43 PM

we should all start a band together.

oh, and for hardcore, i'm really enjoying this local posi-core throwback band lately.

goldenskeletons 12-18-07 03:06 PM

argh, i don't have a working record player.

i just ought to own "i know a girl..." in general. i saw holy mountain a few months ago and it was pretty spectacular. actually, that might've been about a year ago.

I think if you told Al from hellnation his band wasnt hardocre he'd punch you in the eye. ****z called themselves hardcore in songs, and if you think Charles Bronson is grindcore or powerviolence go listen to one life crew.

Combatwoundedveteran is amazing. I have "I know a girl..." and "This is not an all red...."

xylophonecks 12-18-07 03:32 PM

ahh, well if you ever do get around to that, i've got a couple "i know a girl..." lp's i believe. i'll check when i get home.
one of them can be yours.

my friend used to run a distro, when it crashed i inherited a bunch of awesome stuff.

xylophonecks 12-18-07 03:35 PM

and yeah -- the last time i saw the holy mountain was in a gutted house after hurricane katrina. that was amazing.

xylophonecks 12-18-07 03:39 PM
