Spynergy Conversion

Is there any way in which I can convert my Campy 8sp compatible Spynergy to accept track cogs and swap to threaded 120mm axle? I have a spare track frame in which I'd like to use these wheels on if at all possible. Thanks!

George

My friend has a Surly Fixxer on a Spin wheel and it has worked out pretty nicely..

I think the Surly Fixer only works on Shimano cassette hubs.

Sheldon mentions a friend experimenting with brazing the ratcheting mechanism on a cassette hub to turn it in to a fixed gear.

You might also try posting to the fixed gear mailing list to see if anyone has attempted this.

I already posed the same question a couple days ago on that mailing list.... someone there also suggested checking out Sheldon's site. I think I'll do that. Thanks....

Yeah, I just saw that. I jumped on here before I checked my weekends digests of the fixed list.

Earlier message brought to you by the department of redundancy department.:D

Brazing might not be an option, as the Spinergy freehub is probably aluminum alloy, and the pawls steel.

plus you'd be screwing up a really nice wheel...

I got good use outta these wheels. I got them new back in '96. If there was a clean, permanent way to convert it to a track wheel, I was gonna just go ahead with it.

George!
