Schwinn Sport Tourer frame for FG

I might be picking up a frame just like the one pictured below. what are you're thought's on it being used as a fixed gear? The drop is forged as Im sure it should be for a fixed and the frame is hand brazed.
(yes, this is one of my bikes )

if it's for touring, i think you could find a lighter bike, which you'd probably be thankful for after a day of riding.

if you just want to convert it just to do it and ride around town, yeah, i'd do it.

It'll get the job done, I say go for it. If you can find something nicer you'll thank yourself later though.

Filet brazed is sexy.

I wouldn't spend fortune on one, but if you've got it floating around, why not?

Damn! I was all happy thinking it was a great frame to build up I've done some research and found that they were like Schwinns best frames so I thought it would prob make a sweet FG Oh well Thanks for the advice

Electro-forged and filet brazed are not the same thing.

It is a good recreational frame from the 70s, but only the main tubes are Cro-mo, the stays are hi-ten. It will make a fine bike, but if you want a sweet conversion, go for a butted cro-mo frame from the 80s.

If you can find one of the Columbus Tenax Schwinn frames from the 80s (They aren't too hard to find) or one of the 531 treks, you will have the makings of a sweet conversion. The 80s bikes are also more likely to take 700c wheels.
