Fixation Movie on Netflix.
Could be a repost, but I just finished it. Leaps and bounds better than that joke To Live and Ride In L.A.
Definitely worth the watch. A little boring at times, but meh.

my god LA riders think they are the coolest MFers on the planet. not nearly as bad as to live and ride in LA.
scrod will be happy to know there's an i-minusD portion of the film

Coming from LA and riding in the scene, this is definitely tacky. There's just too many sides of the community here that there really can't be a single movie to describe it. We've got everything from high school brats riding terrible fake leaders to amazing Cat 1 racers in the LA Velo Center. With every fixed community there's always the good and the bad. Claiming we have the best riders is such an invalid thing to say as well. I think alot of the things said in the film were a little to deep and corny, that they just start spitting out words they really should have kept to themselves. I think the contribution of LA fixed community being pretentious is ALL THE DAMN HIPSTER, GAUGE EARRING, SKINNY JEANS CUT OFFS, HITLER YOUTH HAIRCUT, CHROME BAG WEARING, TATTED UP LIKE A MOFO riders. They forget the cycling community needs more unity out here and less segregation.

+1 they were annoying and dangerous. Well I wonder why two of their folks crashed...oh yeah they were wasted. But as Ivy said, there are many many riders here in LA and not all are full of derp.

I'll check it out, but I have a feeling I'm going to be watching some people that need to get over themselves.
Commuting and riding in any urban environment on any type of bike also requires the same skill, not so special or unique.
This stylish documentary examines fixed gear cycling, in which bicyclists from many walks of life, from messengers to athletes and tricksters, speed along without brakes and with only one gear in a mode that requires great concentration and daring

I don't understand why these guys think they're somehow more special than the thousands of cyclists who just ride their asses off all the time with no cameras around...

I think documentaries like these shouldn't put focus on regional communities because then they start to represent their community is such ignorant ways.

"Riding in the city…it can be fun. Most of the time is pretty brutal. Traffic is really unforgiving. You're definitely out there fighting for your own little bit of territory on the street." -- Sean Martin
Of course, EXACTLY as he says that, they show him abandoning his SAFE lane to encroach on a car to make it all look dramatic for the camera.
Idiot.

for what ever reason they chose sean, an LA transplant from Seattle, to represent LA, I don't know why....
