actually, we are already the proud owners of a tandem. i was honestly worried about splitting the purchase of a tandem just a few months into dating Ben, but it all worked out...

As I recall none of this would have happened if Julie didn't go all Florence Nightingale on Ben.
So happy for your guys! After the wife and I move to Chicago we will have to go out on married tandem dates.

Come to think of it, my partner snagged me the same way. Is this some sort of tactic they get taught that I wasn't aware of?

Congratulations and your yellow tandem is way nice but this is still available on Ebay:
So you might want to put it on your wedding present wish list?

so, i thought i would share. since this is ALL YOUR FAULT, BFSSFG folk.
once upon a time there was a Meat N' Greet in Chicago, where a girl from DC (and her friends) and a guy from Chicago who didn't really read BFSSFG came. Guy gets hit by a car during the race, girl drops out to help him, they meet, (this thread explains,) yadda yadda... two years later guy gives girl a ring.
Cardstock + Chimblysweep = TLF.
thank YOU interwebs, for bringing people together. or at least taking the first step toward making that possible.
(I know there's at least one other BFSSFG romance that resulted in a ring this fall, but I'll leave that to them to share...)

Without reading this whole thread: BF wasn't instrumental in the meeting of the two, was it?
