Even in Helsinki, cyclists have 5 times more the chance of getting killed, per traveled kilometer, than a car driver. Think of that for a moment. as said above, it's the mindset of people
cars are not evil, just people improperly use them or use them too much. the same analogy can be said about guns guns are not evil, they don't shoot people, people shoot people, and abuse them. it's amazing how we as a society will blame the tool and not how it is used. great picture by the way! |

Correct. I'm typing this one handed because I went down HARD in the trolley tracks on California last night. Shoulder's either broken or separated. Screw the trolley and any stupid ****head that actually rides it. I'd trade these tracks in for another few hundred cars on the road any day.

I love not owning a car because it allows me to spend thousands on bicycles and things I actually want/need. Instead of being forced to spend that money on a car I will abhor driving, and generally get places slower in doing so. Speaking from what I have seen and heard, I'd venture to guess that at least a quarter of urban car owners could easily do without them, and likely increase their standard of living because of it.
