if you taco a wheel skidding, you need to drop more than a bill on a wheel.
let see. this one. cost me about 70 to build more or less, but it is a 650c mavic open pro. I dont know how strong it is when laced 3 cross with straight gauge steel spokes |
650s on a 700 fork will naturally be more prone to falling apart. Also, did you lace it? Or did a shop lace it? What hubs did you use?

are you good enough at doing the quick side skids, like whipping the tail 45 degrees while barely out of the saddle? - if you aren't, you should get comfortable with the feeling of those first; if you are, the action of swinging the bike around for a 180 on a long skid shouldn't take much time to get down.
but have never done one of these. the area i live in doesnt really require much daily skidding unless i want to. any tips on the side skid? noob question i know, but i'm curious. |
650 on a 650 fork and frame. last wheel just wasnt eyeleted or double walled, this one i hope will last longer.
nashbar hub in the rear. specialzed hub up front pic time http://stupidhurts.org/gallery/album...1/IMG_0069.JPG |
pffft ... itsy bitsy chainrings = easier to do skids and other such tricks...
damn for me and platforms ! |
I've found I need to consciously shift my weight mid skid in order to get the last ~45 degrees or so.
