Your bike looks like it's a long toptube short seattube bike too, yeah.

Mine's something bizarre like 54x58, I think it may have been designed for a very tall orangutan. I run city bars because anything else is pretty much a torture rack for me.

and i thought I had no fork clearance

mine is about 53x56 I think the guy at the lbs took a tape measure to it and shook his head

my bike was meant to have aero bars and a shorter stem on it, and not drops, I have seen the bike in its original config. yours may have been designed for the same thing which is why it might feel funny

mine doesnt handle right unless you are pretty much stretched out on top of it

Using mismatched (i.e. - 700C rear, 650C front) is no longer UCI/USAC legal.

Actually, real men ride 600c

To be perfectly honest. This bike fell into my hands, and that is the ONLY reason that I have it. Most days I really wish I had a sweet high quality standard 700c front and rear, lugged steel bike with a front brake on it. This thing is cool looking (except perhaps for the erect stem), and actually is a really functional bike. Drop is about what my road bike has on the drops, BB is high so I have great corning clearance, AND I'm running 172.5 cranks with an inch or so of toe clearance. I just struggle with whether I should keep it sometimes when I think about having a fixed gear that didn't have a tubie on the front to worry about. Oh, and I AM a fan of brakes.

Not only. They were popular in triathlon (back and front), where no drafting was possible.

the reason for a 650c front wheel is style .
