I use old tires on the trainer or if they are too far gone I cut boots out of them. Having one in the seat bag can be a life saver.

I patch tubes.

I think that REI collects old tubes for recycling, but that might vary by location.

Take an old tube and cut a 4" section out of it. Wrap this around the seatpost collar and post to keep the gunk out of the tube during the wet seasons.

Old tubes make shock cords and 5 old tires were recently exchanged for water bottles in a Specialized promotion.

once your butt has been flossed, and you are up to your ears in bungees - many 'specialized' dealers are accepting old rubbers (sans trojans) to be recycled.

I had trouble with my tire liners making abrasions in the cords of my tires and in my tubes. I cut about 4 inches from an old tube and slit it lengthwise. I made two of these for each wheel. One went between the liner and the tire at the overlap in the liner. The other went between the tube and the liner at the same place.

Some have said in similar threads that they use old tubes for tie down cords on roof racks, etc.

I do not have a use for old tires.

I save them for times when I need to carry large/awkwardly shaped things to work or school. Rig up a sort of backpack for them.

I've been toying with making a cell phone holster or some kind of pouch, generic holster out of my old mountain bike tires.

Donate them to Totally Tubular Designs so they can turn them into handbags and purses.
