frame sizing question
I have the opportunity to grab a new iro angus for really cheap (basically) and i had some sizing questions to clear up.
I am 6 foot with an inseam of about 34. i don't like the feeling of a small frame (kinda like my frame i have now) and am asking the following: 1. from the info above what size might you recomend 2. what are the main factors in determining frame size (off the bike. i'm more interested in general rules of thumb) thanks |
I dont have any links off the top of my head, but if you google bike fit calculator you will be able to enter measurements to get your proper frame size. I would say you would be fine on anything around 58. Going bigger will stretch you out a little more smaller will do the opposite. One other thing you could do is measure out your frame now and see how much larger you would like it to be. Check the seat tube and top tube lengths.

Did you grow? I don't remember you being 5'12". Anyway, with a 34" inseam I'd go 57 or 58. The Angus is gonna be a 59 if it's a size up (you do have the 56, right?) with a 57 cm top tube. That's another 1.5 cm longer, and you already run short-ass stems. If you're willing to stretch out a little more, then go for it. Personally, I'd pass.

of course this varies by bike to bike, but its a good rule of thumb to start from |
