Cheap Brake Set

Anyone know where I can find a complete front caliper brake set, with levers, cables, calipers, pads, etc? Im thinking 20$ish.

I used to get em used from my LBS but they ran out of spare sets to give me so I'm forced to get my own, since the set on my last bike was stolen along with the rest of my wheels.

Cheapest I've seen without scouring for sales everywhere:

You're probably looking for a dual pivot right? What kind of lever?

If you'd like a regular old style road lever I've got a bunch you can have.

What do you mean worth buying. It's $5. You get what you pay for. That being said, even the cable/housing would've probably cost you more if you bought seperately. Those calipers/levers however, sure aren't dual pivot anythings though.

More like something you'd see on a walmart bike.

No. Those things are super flimsy and will bend/flex too much to make them worth while on anything but a little kids bike. Don't do it. Go to your local thrift store, buy an 80s road bike for $20, remove the brake, sell the frame to some kid on craigslist for $50, recycle/use the rest, buy beer with the leftover money.

By buying beer with bike money? No, that's just how I got drunk a buncha times.

Here's a great deal if you did the whole 27" to 700c thing: http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...0Road%20Brakes. I'm guessing they'd work on any bike though. Some pretty cheap dual pivots: http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...0Road%20Brakes
