what's the story behind the picture?
racist towards dogs?
Racist towards African Americans, and the dog symbolizes that ethnicity?
......?
But its very very cool way to customize a seat what ever the design or picture may be.

i don't find the image all that neat either, but i also really like it as a way of customization.
do you own the machine necessary to do this kind of stuff? is it hard?

hmm, I see what you're saying with child wearing a dog mask hanging lifeless from a noose, but do you have any unicorns or rainbows? A box full of kittens maybe?

it's actually sort of a pain in the ass to do.
i have the laser, so that part's not bad, but adjusting the deerskin to different saddle silhouettes and then upholstering such a thick skin onto the pre-existing saddles is somewhat difficult, but no more so than upholstering a thicker skin onto some of you.

i don't think i'm selling any--at least not as practical saddles.
i'm not sure how well-versed i am in upholstering yet.

i have some beta testing to do here in NYC first. so, maybe i'll eventually do some customs, but i'd rather it just be an impractical art project for the time being.

that said, i may sell some thru the New Museum as an edition of some sort in more of an art context.

do it. juno did--with a licorice rope.
macaulay culkin did it with his hoodie string.
both survived to tell the tale.

hanged is right.
hung is for clothing and objects.
hanged is for children in dog costumes.

After looking through some of your work, I admire your talent with the stencil art. Most all of it would be a blast to go around spray about Seattle. But, I don't agree with the image of hanging a dog (to be edgy?). That type of image also apears in one of your porfolio pieces. I'm not an art critic, but... anyone who thinks thats creatively OK needs to get their face stomped in. But, good luck to you anyway.

i like america and the good ol' face-stompin' reaction that a drawing can elicit here.

more violence!
less discussion!

wait. in my picture dictionary? that's not a portfolio. it's something that the NYC board of education uses to teach the alphabet to kids in grade school. the stencils help them physically interact with language.

i keed

individuals deciding what's right for themselves creatively should be met with face stomping???

I saw this coming. Weirdo dog-suit kid doing
the asphyxiation thing, backlash, freedom of expression
counter-backlash.

Let's argue about if the earth is flat.

America... What does that have to do w/it? Or are other nationalities more elevated and understanding in your art community? Does Kim Gordon and other big wigs from NYC art/noise admire the image of a dog being hung? I just think its messed up and I think the rest of your stuff is good. I just believe animals are sacred and should be protected, not abused. Self-rightous artists are the ones to be abused.

sorry, i'd totally forgotten that bashing people's faces in for offending one's sensibilities was a valid point of view.

wait, why are you thinking that the image condones or endorses the act?
how is dude being self-righteous, or rather if he is how can we tell?
A given image could be used to endorse or villify a certain act--it all
depends on the intent and context. . .

it's a random-***** image to put on a saddle, but who knows what the hell
it means.

back to classic and vintage.
