btm bracket thread direction: nishiki rally?
Does anyone happen to know what the drive side threading direction is on the nishiki rally? i could've sworn it was an english/british style bb (regular threading on non-drive side, left-hand threading on drive side), but i'm putting a LOT more force than i'm used to and it's not budgin (the non-drive side came off with a little tug).
I don't want to put any unnecessary pressure on the threads if it's not left-hand threading, and google isn't doing much for me...

Still kicking.
The drive side might be fused together or you have to go opposite for loosening it.

fixed cups can be extremely difficult to get off. even with the hozan fixed up remover that i have, some can be virtually impossible.

It's english thread. Turn your wrench towards the front of the bike to loosen.
Edit: Standing on the wrench might help. Works for me...

like magic, i was able to get it off with a quick motion using a 3 1/2 foot pole (about 3/4" diameter).
they say you can move the earth with a long enough lever...
incidentally, i was planning to swap the existing bb (shimano bb-un26) with a newer one (truvativ square LE).
They're the exact same size, and seem to be roughly the same weight. Does anyone know if there's any benefit to using one over the other? The truvativ seems to roll smoother, but only nominally (and even that might be in my head).
