Sorry about the ugly cabinets and poor lighting.
Bike has PW hubs to Deep V's. Fixed/Free with a White Ind. free cog.
The Brooks is only on for NAHBS.

As for the logo, its been redone, so for all who said "greatest framebuilder with the ugliest logo", step in line...bring your checkbook.

You'll have to wait until NAHBS to see the new logo.

Don, it looks great. I want to steal the hell out of that bike. But I won't cause that would be mean.

baxtefer 01-30-08 08:32 AM

the black stem is temporary, right?

pathdoc 01-30-08 08:43 AM

Not sure. That stem is an ultrlighweight although now that I see it on the bike, I think a silver one would look better. Don's even talked of making a custom matching stem for the bike.

Pathdoc....We have to go for a ride when you get your Walker..... That is a beautiful bike...

Here is my custom....We be stylin;)

Noestaencasa 01-30-08 10:03 AM

NO, that is old font.

New font kicks 20 different kinds of @$$.

The headtube and seattube and chainstay logos are all new and, well, see line above.

zelah 01-30-08 10:04 AM

yeah i misread and deleted my post
(i asked if the bike in the OP had the new font)

pathdoc 01-30-08 10:13 AM

Dave,
That is one sweet ride. Love those white lugs, wish I'd thought of that.
I also like the leather wrapped bars and saddlebag. Nice touch.
Your bike even looks like it would fit me. I'm 5'5''.

Thanks. I've had it a little more than a year.. We'll have to swap when we ride. I'm 5'7"

fibergoldfish 01-30-08 05:03 PM

custom stem+ non ergo drops=me willing to go to jail for making sweet love to that bike

sp00ki 01-30-08 05:04 PM

you'd go to jail for a gold paintjob and tacky lugs?

IIRC, didn't you barter with a bikeforums member for the design?

Yes and no. A barter was made. A design was submitted and not used.

The new design is a bit more, shall we say, "me".

Outstanding work Don.... Beautiful job

mander 01-30-08 06:46 PM

Gorgeous frame.

shogun17 01-30-08 06:54 PM

The frame is gorgeous. Saddle position is letting it down. It needs the saddle tilted to horizontal, moved back a little, silver stem, bar tape that matches. and for aesthetics sake like everything else, bit more chain tension. Then it'd really make the frame glow.

ryanday 01-30-08 06:58 PM

On this bike, I totally agree with the choice of Deep-V's.

Yeah I was going to say that but didn't. The build is questionable but it's in beta and ought to be all fixed up in a lil while. I agree with all your points except the one about chain tension (but don't let's bring that up again) and I would add that those black levers look out of place. Silver SCR5's with gum hoods would be the cat's vagina on this bike.

edit: i also think that ergo bars look funny set up like that, I would rotate them up a bit and move the levers down so that they continue the line of the bar tops. Really these are mostly niggly asthetic points but this frame deserves to be fussed over.

jet sanchEz 01-30-08 07:16 PM

Your frames are great but you need to work on colour matching the bits that attach to the frame. Brown Brooks with a white-wrapped handlebar and an overall silver theme matched up with a black stem....it just doesn't work and, like others have said, it takes away from the overall visual pleasure that is the (incredible) frame.
