the black stem is temporary, right?
|
Not sure. That stem is an ultrlighweight although now that I see it on the bike, I think a silver one would look better. Don's even talked of making a custom matching stem for the bike.

Pathdoc....We have to go for a ride when you get your Walker..... That is a beautiful bike...
Here is my custom....We be stylin;) |
NO, that is old font.
New font kicks 20 different kinds of @$$. The headtube and seattube and chainstay logos are all new and, well, see line above. DW |
yeah i misread and deleted my post
(i asked if the bike in the OP had the new font) |
Dave,
That is one sweet ride. Love those white lugs, wish I'd thought of that. I also like the leather wrapped bars and saddlebag. Nice touch. Your bike even looks like it would fit me. I'm 5'5''. |

custom stem+ non ergo drops=me willing to go to jail for making sweet love to that bike
|
you'd go to jail for a gold paintjob and tacky lugs?

As for the logo, its been redone, so for all who said "greatest framebuilder with the ugliest logo", step in line...bring your checkbook.
You'll have to wait until NAHBS to see the new logo. DW |

IIRC, didn't you barter with a bikeforums member for the design?
The new design is a bit more, shall we say, "me". DW |

Outstanding work Don.... Beautiful job
|
Gorgeous frame.
|
The frame is gorgeous. Saddle position is letting it down. It needs the saddle tilted to horizontal, moved back a little, silver stem, bar tape that matches. and for aesthetics sake like everything else, bit more chain tension. Then it'd really make the frame glow.
|
On this bike, I totally agree with the choice of Deep-V's.

edit: i also think that ergo bars look funny set up like that, I would rotate them up a bit and move the levers down so that they continue the line of the bar tops. Really these are mostly niggly asthetic points but this frame deserves to be fussed over. |
Your frames are great but you need to work on colour matching the bits that attach to the frame. Brown Brooks with a white-wrapped handlebar and an overall silver theme matched up with a black stem....it just doesn't work and, like others have said, it takes away from the overall visual pleasure that is the (incredible) frame.
|
Hopefully I will get to ogle that frame in person.
|
jeez, those pictures really show it off. nice work.
don, for all the repetitive "yer logo is teh fugly" comments that people repeat ad nauseum as if it were interesting, i really like how it looks against that white panel, with the white lugs. very classy. great bike. |
The brown Brooks is a temp. The bike will have a black SMP. I like the white bar tape and its my bike so white it is. The only part I'm not thrilled about is the black stem.
The frame came out better than I imagined. Thanks for a really great job Don. |
I need to build a single speed....

His bars/stem for now, but it will change once we know all the particulars. Chain Tension? it was built up before it went into a box. Please. DW |

Most people I know ride bikes because of fit and function, not because they match the parts.... DW |

Really nice frame.
If you were asking my opinion, and you didn't but I like to think I am sane, I would: -Replace the Chorus brakes for some skeleton brakes I also like tape that matches the hoods and saddle. If the bike gets ridden, black cork tape makes all the difference in longevity. http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/4961/chopzd0.jpg |
do not want

It was put together before it was packed. Saddle position means nothing because thats not where the saddle will be at showtime. it will get a custom stem when we determine Dr. Steve's exact, and I mean EXACT, position.
