i think i need a pad?
So i bought a trainer toaday, hoped on it to see how it worked and the conclusion iv come to is that i need a pad to suck up the vibration and try and reduce that huming noise a bit maybe....im sure the guy that lives bellow me is gonna loooooove me til i get this.. i was thinking about going to a high school gym and hacking a 2X2 square out of there wrestling mats that should work i think? Ok so where can i find something sqooshy like that for cheep or free? carpet pads taped together?

Put a towel down. Then put a big piece of plywood over it. Then put another towel over that and put the trainer on that. It should soak up most of the noise/vibrations.

thats exactly what i thought weird....

I think that either target or tjmaxx has the click-together pads that are like a gym floor pad for less than 10 bucks.

right on target it is ..... do they have those in heavy flow the vibrations are reeeeaaallllyyy bad !
Does that plywood and towel technique work good for you nikephoros? |
you'll get tired of riding in place before your neighbor gets pissed enough to do anything, i guarantee it.

What about a few kneeling pads. I can get them for a couple of quid over here so I guess you could get them for similar in usd.

Now, mind you, I'm on my geared bike doing specific workouts when I'm on the trainer. Unless I'm doing a recovery spin and watching Jerry Springer, I've got an agenda on the bike. One thing I've found that makes doing trainer work hard, is just getting up on it with no set plan, other than spinning for an hour. You do that and you're gonna get bored and want to kill yourself in seconds. Make up a workout or find one somewhere – hell, just do 10 minute long hard efforts with recovery periods in-between, add some good tunes, and you'll find trainer workouts a bit less boring. |
Did a quick search and found this: http://www.humanemfg.com/ .
And it's recycled! |
