First Time Converting
So i'm attempting to convert a '74 Raleigh Gran sport to a fixed, any tips or suggestions would be cool.

Ummmm, not really...if you feel up to it, relace your back wheel to a track hub to save some green. It probably has cottered cranks, so you'll need to replace the bottom bracket if you want new cranks. You should post pictures of it though, I like to look at other peoples projects :D

the rest is just how much you want to keep from the original bike, and what you will replace. I like to replace the entire drivetrain: wheels, BB, cranks, chain, ring & cog as they ride SOOOOO nice after that, but really you can just relace the rear wheel with a track hub, and take off the rear brake and ride the living hell out of it just like that. |

I prefer to just get a 700C fixed wheelset, and then go from there.
